Next up on Reloaded Sounds comes Grime and Dubstep producer nothingnice. The Bristol-based producer hasn’t held back on this latest project, throwing out the kind of heavyweight heat you’d expect to hear from the likes of Trends, Boylan and Slimzee.

“Dredge” sets the tone from the very beginning with a pulsing, jagged sonic blast. This is raw, guttural grime at its best, dismissing the need for melody and choosing to instead focus on a brutal combination of crushing rhythms and mangled bass. The second cut, “Yak” starts with a slightly lighter feeling but doesn’t stay that way for long. Brass stabs and chilly metallic notes build on sweeping peripheral effects, organic drums and a vinyl crackle as the track gradually grows. When the drop suddenly arrives, the complexity falls away, replaced by a stomping sub and kick pattern that trades detail for upfront on-beat impact.

These instrumentals are meant for screwing up faces and blowing off heads, and nothingnice successfully hits the mark on both counts

Finally, some sounds of the 'Sir' to actually buy in Flac. It would be nice if he could do some versions with the kids spitting over them as well. Don't worry though I'm doing my own bars when listening: stuff about mortgage rates, how I hate washing up and lyrics about the Kuiper belt and how there's probably loads of planets in our solar system we don't actually count as planets.
